Analysing public awareness and knowledge of artificial sweeteners in the UK: Have your say!

This month we are supporting a MSc Public Health Nutrition student, Jessica Power, to find out more about the public’s awareness and knowledge of artificial sweeteners in the UK as part of her dissertation project.

Jessica Power is a student at Liverpool John Moores University studying for a Masters in Public Health Nutrition. She is seeking participants to take part in a short questionnaire analysing the awareness and knowledge of artificial sweeteners in the UK to inform her final dissertation research project. This research is about gauging public opinion around artificial sweeteners, particularly in light of the Soft Drinks Industry Levy, in order to strengthen policies and initiatives as well as raising awareness. There is evidence to suggest that there is a large amount of confusion around the safety of artificial sweeteners and there are concerns that following years of conflicting research studies that are often over-played by the media, which are then viewed by thousands of people across the country is fuelling this confusion.

Participation and wider dissemination of the study is greatly appreciated – there is a deadline of Friday 3rd August. Don’t miss out – share your views now below!
