Tomorrow we will bring together over 100 delegates in person, and hundreds more online, for the Food Active annual conference and mark 10 fantastic years of the Food Active programme.

To mark this occasion, we have published a new report ‘Catalysts for Change: 10 years of Food Active’ which aims to evaluate the conditions and rationale which led to the launch of the programme in 2013.

It also highlights some of the key successes of the programme over the last decade, including:

The report also captures the current challenges facing the programme, and the opportunities for action as we move into the next 10 years, and features a foreword from our Lead Director of Public Health at the time of the launch, Abdul Razaq, and closes with a postface from our current Lead Director of Public Health, Professor Matthew Ashton.

You can view and download a copy of the report below.

The report is being launched as part of the #FoodActive2023 conference, which is being held in Liverpool on Wednesday 22nd November and will bring together a wide range of stakeholders to reflect on how the national landscape on healthy weight policy has changed over the past decade, and to consider opportunities both regionally and nationally to bolster existing policy as we approach the forthcoming General Election. The conference will also aim to reinforce the importance of local action on promoting healthier weight, in addition to sharing good practice from across the North West.

The response to the conference has been fantastic, with in-person tickets selling out within a matter of weeks of registration going live. The agenda for the day can be found here[1]. However, if you missed out on an in-person ticket, not to worry! You can still join us via a live stream – just register using the link below.
