Food Active response to Sport England’s Active Lives Adult Survey

Food Active response to Sport England’s Active Lives Adult Survey

It is promising to see that activity levels in adults have bounced back from pre-pandemic levels, as reported in the latest Sport England Active Lives Adult Survey.

However, with just 29% of people walking for travel twice in the last 28 days, this also suggests there is still much work to be done to make active modes of transport more accessible to all.

This data also comes just a month after the government announced a £200m cut to active travel budgets, making their target of 50% of all journeys in English towns and cities being walked or cycled by 2030, highly unlikely.

The government needs to ensure the right infrastructure is in place to promote active travel, and such action will require sustainable funding.
