Learning and Reflections from the Healthier Place, Healthier Future Trailblazer Programme

Learning and Reflections from the Healthier Place, Healthier Future Trailblazer Programme

Healthier Place, Healthier Future (HPHF) was one of five Childhood Obesity Trailblazer programmes funded by the Department of Health and Social Care and delivered by the Local Government Association, from 2019-2022. Food Active was the delivery partner for HPHF, working with the Pennine Lancashire Consortium of Local Authorities (Burnley, Blackburn with Darwen, Hyndburn, Pendle, Ribble Valley, Rossendale).

The programme tested out different ways to promote healthier weight in childhood across four key local levers. These included system leadership, business development, social movement and planning.

The HPHF programme has generated a great deal of learning through exploring what can be done locally to promote healthier weight.

We are delighted to publish the ‘HPHF Learning Note’ which summaries the local programme evaluation demonstrating the impact, reach and key learning points from the project.

A significant number of resources were produced as part of the HPHF programme, including infographics, toolkits to support social movement and creative consultation, lesson plans and much more. These resources can now be accessed via the link below.
