New briefing to support Elected Members to address weight stigma in their communities

We have launched a new briefing to support Elected Members to address weight stigma in their communities, forming part of our range of resources designed to put an end to weight stigmatisation and bias.

Suitable for local authority officers to use to brief their members on what weight stigma is, the impacts it can have on local communities and what members can do within their role to help put an end to weight stigma.

The briefing is added to our existing range of resources designed to tackle weight stigma, and will be hosted on our Weight Stigma Resource Hub, which also includes:

  • Communications checklist
  • Weight stigma presentation
  • Position statement
  • Evidence briefing
  • #FoodActive2021 conference hub
  • Local case studies on tackling weight stigma
  • As well as signposting links to a range of other fantastic resources produced by organisations across the globe.

You can access the briefing below.

If you have any suggestions for further resources that may help to tackle weight stigma, please email info@foodactive.org.uk.
