Podcast: Children and young people’s energy drink consumption: What does the latest evidence tell us?

The Food Active podcast aims to explore how we can collectively promote healthy weight, by looking at the social, environmental, economic and legislative factors which influence our lifestyle choices.

The latest episode of the Food Active podcast is now live! We spoke with public health nutritionist Dr Amelia Lake about her new research with colleagues at Fuse, the Centre for Translational Research in Public Health, Teesside University and Newcastle University, which presents the latest and most up to date evidence on the impact of energy drinks on children’s health.

This latest evidence has also prompted calls from over 40 health organisations, academics and public health directors to finally introduce a sales restriction on these drinks to under 16s.
